Pol-Tex International, a division of Poly-America, was created in 1983 through a venture with St. Louis based Continental Manufacturing Co. and The Exxon Corporation. The purpose of this newly formed company was to reprocess excess and waste polymers, primarily polyethylene. As demands within the petro-chemical reclamation industry changed, Pol-Tex International met these new demands by developing new services and expanding operations.

In 1989, Pol-Tex International was acquired by Poly-America to complement and increase the recycling operations, product competitiveness and customer service capabilities. Energized by new ownership, Pol-Tex International increased its mobile service fleet, upgraded its existing equipment and added new equipment to meet increasing demand and attract new business. In the years following the acquisition of Pol-Tex International our recycling operation steadily blossomed. The operation has now grown by more than 400% and remains the premiere recycler for the Gulf region.
